I agree, I wonder if the institutions that finance the builds use the average rate as a reasonability check on the cost and the average rate should be around R6500 per/sq  :thinking:

Rather go to quantity surveyor or a bit cheaper get estimate from [http://intellibuild.co.za] ,send then the plan and they send the cost breakdown , as far I can remember they give approximate rand amount for finishes , example tile cost based on R150 per sqm , labour cost based on X amount ...

Most use it as benchmark but if you building grarage or stoep , it cannot be true maybe more like R3000 per/sq If you can, just buy the finishes, less hassle , I think You can also post a job on www.redfish.co.za but beware the rating system is a bit flawed , a handyman can get many ratings...

I could not find a 2amp ceramic fuse, so I replaced it with a 2amp glass fuse It is used in an active 5.1 speakers setup Should I continue looking or is Glass fuse fine for the application?

Thinking of getting noise cancelling for the odd plane trip but will a good IEM not be good enough to seal  ? Over ear is just to bulky to travel with Anyone tried a non-noise cancelling which seals just as well? Any Suggestions
