To volume match you will need a multimeter connected across the speaker terminals and a test tone CD - 100 Hz and/or 1 kHz tones should be fine. Ensure the voltages between both devices are matched to within 1/100 of a volt. Good luck! :thumbs:

Actually, the closer you are to reaching the thermal limits of a speaker the worse it is likely to sound as distortion of a goodly number of different kinds tends to increase. :)  Irrespective, if you push a speaker hard enough for long enough it will fail no matter how clean the power is...
