Returning to the OP question, it's quite clear to see why the prices of second hand items have increased. 

If retail prices have gone up significantly, then replacement value has gone up.  With power amps especially, good power is good power, wether from a new amp or an old amp in good condition.  Pay R25k for a RMB-1095 of buy the new 1585 for R77490?

I agree KMX1 re shipping.  I know it can be a major hassle, and you do need to know how to pack securely, otherwise big items can be ruined.  Time needed to pack can also be an issue, as can cost of packaging. However in the spirit of helping people out, I would hope sellers will help buyers...

Both the Denon and CA exhibiting the same problem and the CA not doing it when tested by someone else may indicate that the problem is at least not with the CA .... or the Denon.  The common denominator seems to the speakers behaving differently on different amps

It is superior for sure.  But it was a trade in and I never intended to keep it.  I need to recover my outlay, so I will accept the trade in of a processor and cash for it.  I can get the Rotel and Integra and very reasonable prices - less than the AudioControl for sure, hence my dilemma

Ja, the problem is I don't know where to buy the "Neither?" brand.  I won't put Marantz on the shortlist because honestly I'm not impressed with their processors.  There are surely better brands and that also boils down to personal opinion.  But these are the ones I am able to get, so my choices...

Isn't the solution to simply get a tuner and connect that?  They usually sound superior to on-board tuners anyway, and can be had from around R350 second hand.
