Hi guys Here is the damage. Does anyone on here have the skill and if so, willingness to help repair these?  I have a very sad daughter who would be most appreciative of the help.  I am situated in Centurion and work in Woodmead and would be very happy to travel within reason to bring these...

Hi all Yes.  I believe I was in the second last ever compulsory intake in Jan 1992 in 1 SAI in Bloem.  By then it was just 1 year service and almost the whole time was spent in Bloem except for about a month in Lohatla. Alastair

Help. My Oppo BDP 95 blu ray player is freezing up

Hi Smoothjazz Thanks for the feedback.  I will try download and run the latest update and see if that resolves the issue.  I can't check what version I'm currently on (due to the freezing) but I assume there will not be an issue if I do try to update and it's already on the latest version, or...

Let's play a game! Help me 'home entertain'!

Hi Panda The new place you are moving into won't allow you to go for a projector instead of a TV will it (ie sufficient wall space for the screen, ability to darken the room if needed, etc)?  If it will you might consider going the projector route rather than the big TV route.  Most of us that...

A favour needed - Anyone coming back from the US (JFK) in the next month or so?

Hi all I bought some earphones off Massdrop as Christmas gifts for my kids a few weks ago and had them delivered to my brother in law in New Jersey.  Unfortunately the courier costs to get them here is more than what I paid for the earphones.  Is there anyone on here who is willing and able to...

Recommendation required: Best in-ears for iPhone 7 & up (lightening connector)

Hi all Mods, you can lock this thread if you'd like.  I went ahead and amde a safe choice and went with the Klipsch X11's that were on Massdrop for $64 a pair.  Safe because I alrady own a pair and love them.  They don't have the lightening connector but are great improvements on what my kids...

Hi all So does anyone have any suggestions regarding my original question - which in ear headphones do you recommend that come with the lightening connector for iPhones 7 and later?  Alastair

Recommendation required: Best in-ears for iPhone 7 & up (lightening connector)

Hi Naughty You are right.  I do recall reading somewhere that the lightening connection allowed Apple to go to 24 bit instead of 16 bit.  Having said that none ofthe rest of the family care that much despite my attempts to turn then into audio snobs like me. ;D Alastair

Recommendation required: Best in-ears for iPhone 7 & up (lightening connector)

Hi Tenflare Bluetooth options are plan C at the moment as I am under the impression (perhaps incorrectly) that battery life on most of these types of headphones is poor ie less than a day and the connection isn't that stable (prone to dropping).  So still leaning towards the plug directly into...

Recommendation required: Best in-ears for iPhone 7 & up (lightening connector)

Hi Naughty Yes you right but that is very much plan B at the moment because that little adapter is so easily lost (as my eldest daughter has proven to me).  So I'd prefer being able to plug straight into the lightening port if possible. Alastair

Recommendation required: Best in-ears for iPhone 7 & up (lightening connector)

Hi all Most of my family now have a iPhone 7 or later which as you know no longer has the 3,5mm headphone jack.  We also have a family Tidal Hifi ccount which we are all loving.  Which in-ears (school doesn't allow over or on ears) come with the Apple lightening connector instead of the usual...

Stripped screw on my B&W M1 wall mount - what do i do?

Hi all A massive thank you to Leo (Tzs503gp) who quickly identified the issue as a cross thread (which a couple of you had suggested might be the case) and fixed it for me in just a few minutes.  Another example of a helpful gentleman of a forum member, with a kick-ass stereo set up too.  Thank...

Stripped screw on my B&W M1 wall mount - what do i do?

Hi all The "screw".  You'll see that it is more "metallic" on the front end where it seems to catch and get stuck each time. The bracket The bracket with the screw "stuck".  When i say stuck I mean that I can remove it but cannot get it to go in any further.  it is mean to be crewed in all...

Stripped screw on my B&W M1 wall mount - what do i do?

Hi all Pics to follow hopefully tomorrow.  I fear it is the housing for the "screw" (more and more sure this is not the right term) that is stripped and not the screw itself. Alastair

Stripped screw on my B&W M1 wall mount - what do i do?

Hi Chris Thanks.  Maybe I am mistaken but I am under the impression that the "screw" (which is probably not the right term) is a specific B&W part and won't easily be replaced.  It does seem to measure 3,5mm in diameter.  I'll try find a picture.  MODS, is there any chane this cold be moved to...
