Wow! Incredible!  :2thumbs: Really looking forward to the build, keen to pick up some tips on the amazing finish.

A comparison, Polk Audio RTi10 vs Bentley Acoustics FS-150

Thanks man!  It is amazing what a power amp does to big floor standers, just gives them so much more body and presence. I had Mission MV-8s as my fronts before I got the Bentleys, admittedly they are entry level speakers, but did the job pretty well. They were also on the brightish...

Great to see you and BiZKit taking time to reply and finding solutions to the issues.  It's such a good product and I feel if that issue is sorted out they'll be perfect. It's not my intention to diss the product, just to point out the areas that can be improved upon.

    From something to something else

Dit lyk baie mooi van ver!  The black and dark veneer go very well together. Sorry to hear you battled with the veneer, I haven't plucked up the courage to try it myself yet, but will definitely do it at some stage.

A comparison, Polk Audio RTi10 vs Bentley Acoustics FS-150

Those RTI-A9s are enormous! Love to have a pair but they're more expensive than the FS-150s and RTi10s put together and as you say, the FS-150s will give them a serious run for their money. Thanks for demoing the Bentleys, they certainly changed my perception for good! Absolutely love my...

A comparison, Polk Audio RTi10 vs Bentley Acoustics FS-150

It's a pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it.  Yup, I was definitely wearing those rose tinted glasses of nostalgia when I bought them, I was gutted when they sounded so bad on the NAD amp, but as you say, all worked out well in the end. The RB-985 is a really good match with them. Yup...

A comparison, Polk Audio RTi10 vs Bentley Acoustics FS-150

Good evening everyone, This is a long read, so; TLDR; go to the end of the post to see the differences in point form. Otherwise, sit back, grab a cup of coffee, put on your favourite tunes and (hopefully) enjoy the read. I won?t really call this a review, I don?t have Agaton Sax 's ability...

How many watts do you really need??

    :giggle: Isn't it 1.21 jiggawatts?

:giggle: Love the advanced, precision tooling technique to create the magnetic attachment devices.

How many watts do you really need??

Thanks for the link!  It's a really interesting read, which pretty much emphasises the point that absolute power ratings are meaningless if the amp can't deliver enough current.

How many watts do you really need??

;D Yup! Those prices are insane! Would never be able to afford it at that price. Fortunately I only paid R6000 for it, it's my best return on investment audio item so far. Speaking of Kenwood amps, I had a KA 1100sd for a while. It also had an enormous power supply, but would kick into...

How many watts do you really need??

I hear you with regards to AVR's, the majority aren't great for stereo, they have to fit so much electronics in a standard sized box so it leaves very little space for a decent power supply. I'm sceptical of their power ratings even when they say two channels driven. However I have to disagree...

Subwoofer placement - Front or back?

Yup, most definitely, however your room layout is going to determine the best location for your sub. Best bet would be to do the "subwoofer crawl" to find the optimal postion if you're using a single sub. https://www.audioholics.com/home-theater-connection/crawling-for-bass-subwoofer-placement...

Here's your chance - voice your opinion

Definitely agree with these points, especially point 1 and 3. With regards to point 1, images should be hosted on the same platform that the forum is hosted on and not on third party sites. So many images have been lost, particularly in the DIY section where the likes of JimGore have created...

What kind of Audiophile are you?

Great post! Right off the bat, I?ll say that I despise the term Audiophile. Perhaps it?s because of a few self-confessed Audiophiles that I?ve spoken to that have had such a holier-than-thou attitude and that their ?golden ears? can hear a bat fart three kilometres away. After...

    From something to something else

This is exactly what DIY is all about!  You learn so much more from experimenting and trying different things, even when the results are less than stellar. It is immensely satisfying when you do get it right. Just keep at it, read up as much as you can about those drivers and suitable...

    Herb Alpert Whipped Cream Bass!

Yup, definitely heard it on Youtube Music. https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=vaNK_6r823E&list=RDAMVMvaNK_6r823E It sounds like a normal double bass, but goes nice and deep. The note is played on it's own just after the end of the video you posted. It's at the 0:42 mark on the Youtube Music link.
