Thanks, I gave that a try, didn't make a single bit of difference. I tried connecting the sub directly to one of the outputs of the DAC and that did make a fairly substantial difference but still a noticeable hum remains.

I tried 2 different stereo RCA cables that I haven't had any issues with before and no difference. I was also thinking about that but the fact that even with the cables only connected on the sub side there's barely any hum.
