    Gas vs. Induction Hobs

For me it come down 2 factors: 1. confidence in our government to solve the electrical issues in the next few years, 2. Carbon footprint. Will government get electrical supply settled soon or not? No political bias or rant implied, just a realistic assessment of the situation. Is more...

What is the optimal solar setup? Including geyser! “Dream team” equipment

I have read a few of the posts on the forum on solar geyser and general house solar systems and was wondering what the most ideal setup would be. What would be the most robust equipment? This is important because it is expensive and would usually take 8 to 19 years to pay for itself. Hopefully...

    Gas geyser VS Solar geyser

I am a bit late to this post. I had a gas geyser installed by a gas specialist. It was terrible. Water was never more than luke warm. Cost me 10K and stopped using it after a week. Had them back a few times but finally gave up.

    JBL SOUNDBAR mysterious crackle...need advise

I bought the 5.1 JBL SOUNDBAR six months ago and I love it. I use it to watch TV every night. Suddenly it has started crackling. These “crackles” are very load, sharp. They occur at what sounds like max volume, independent of the volume setting. The only thing that seems to stop the crackle is...

    Solar advice

Sorry Revv I just re-read your initial question. You do not have solar panels or batteries, and just want to know which solar geyser addons would be appropriate. Again the time of day you want to shower is important because both the suggested 2 options would be not be appropriate for morning...

    Solar advice

My father had an old geyser mounted under roof. They fitted a tube unit on his exterior roof that used a small solar pump to circulate the water to geyser. Water would get so hot that it would blow out the top of the overflow pipe.

    Solar advice

It depends on a few factors, for example how dig is your solar array and Battery backup, what time of day you want to shower or bath, do you shower or bath? If you bath/shower late afternoon only then solar geyser is great, but if you do an early morning shower then not so great. My solar...

    WIFI range extender -Which one?

Ubiquity products are fantastic! Mesh networks all the way. I tried some cheaper extenders, like the Tenda N300, but it is really hard to setup if you are not a qualified network pro. Took me hours and finaly had to get a pro to help me, only took him 30 min. Then tried a Ubiquity Amplifi...

    Headphones for Movies

I have the Razer Chimaera 5.1 headphones. Sound is fine BUT they are to tight and hurt my head after more than 2 hours of watching TV. It is not possible to adjust the amount of "spring" they have. Had to stop using them. Looking for a teenager I can give them away to..LOL.

I was using a Marantz amp and 4 B&W speakers plus sub in a Full 5.1 setup for my Tv entertainment system but often struggled with hearing voices (getting old you see). Since moving to the sound bar voice sound is MUCH easier to hear. The amp of course did some very nice upscaling of the...
