So initial thoughts after doing some A-B testing. With a TOSLINK splitter, A from source directly to my Cambridge Amp and B TOSLINK to the D2 and Tube Pre Out to my Cambridge Amp Sound staging seems to have improved immensely, I seem to be hearing a more detail than before. Definitely more...

My D2 arrived at our offices yesterday. Messing around with a set of Logitech Z6 something speakers, sound is definitely warmer using some crappy house mp3's. Now to test on my Cambridge/Monitor Audio setup with FLAC  ;)

From Tom's LF thread I ordered my TubeMagic D2 with the optional upgrade of 3 matched opamp OPA627 last week. Looking around the web all I can really tell is that these are Texas Instruments chipsets. What do they actually do and was it worth the extra 40USD to change over to these?

If you like the XBMC interface another option is Boxee Box. So far has handled anything I can throw at it

RS6's hooked up to a 540R and i'm pretty happy, so agree with your sentiment  :thumbs:. Next in my sights, Cambridge CDP and Mav Audio DAC

RS6's may be too bright/harsh, happy with mine at the moment

Dunno, i'll happily listen to the album, it just not one that grabs me like There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Big kudos to them for going "old school" with the recording, Best of You doccie was actually quite good.

What do you have against them? I love their ealier stuff, their current stuff leaves me cold though
