Thanks for the responses guys... really appreciate the advise. Gonna demo both subs out this weekend ... will ask them about a home demo  :D I have a 2 year old kid, so I bought the polk vm20's to put on the wall, they more like satellite speakers, awesome sound... but lacks bass, which is why...

Thanks Lav, I have a wharfdale gx10 at the moment, really good sub... but I feel a 12 is needed for the lower ranges... as you said the extra 2" does make a difference. I do spend more time listening to music, which it why I kept the B&W in the equation even though it's a 10".... but I'm leaning...

Hi, I'm looking to buy a new subwoofer for my 5.1 setup. I have the Polk VM20's, LCR setup with an Onkyo NR818. It will be used for 60% music and 40% movies. Looking to spend around R7k, so I've narrowed it down to either the Velodyne impact 10 \ 12 or B&W ASW610. Or.... do I buy a 2nd hand...
