My Denon x1000 was doing the same thing. Sent it on for repairs and waiting on an outcome. Hopefully the damage is not too heavy.
Had to run the video directly to the tv. Sound seemed ok.

Have just purchased this blu-Ray player and when I connected it via HDMI I get intermittent picture and it is mostly this HD type of snow. I have plugged the blu-ray directly to the tv and works fine.
Anyone know what the problem is and can offer...
