Well, well replace the valves with some Sovtek KT88's, dont think the 90's or 120's are such a good idea afterall, but Ill let you know after the valves arrive if it needs more power, for what it is now there is not a lot of it overflowing. Should be a week or so.

Hi all I need to replace my four valves. Is the KT120 that much more powerfull than the 88's and can you really just swop them? Then, I read some bad reviews on both the 90 and 120's, has anybody done an A / B comparison (or A / B / C - for this case). Do you think the output will increase 100%...

Hi no all the valves glow exactly the same, I took them out - the output valves - and washed them, they all seem in good shape by visual inspection. I swapped their positions all ways around but the same channel keeps on clipping so Im 100% that all the valves are fife or at least the same...

Long happy and sad story now -- I got it fixed, seems that the mains transformer actually does have such a low resistance. There was some load resistors that had issues and after replacing them it was working again 100% , even better than that is is a brilliant amp beautiful very very nice -...

Hi guys I have an old - Seems to be a - Gunter Steinhardt TVP 404 with a busted mains transformer. Does anybody know what the tapping voltages are so I can get a new one. Also I cant find the TVP 404 anyware on the net, lots of 400's though. Ill try to upload some pictures.
