    Zaph ZRT crossover

I checked but there is almost no common components between the 2 and 2.5 way crossovers. It would have been a good option though.

    Zaph ZRT crossover

This is exactly what I had in mind too. I was actually contemating how one can make a kind of butterfly valve that you can close with a lever at the back. The reason for this is that I do like the accuracy of the bass of sealed designs but sometimes you have to be able to hear the lower octaves...

    Zaph ZRT crossover

Good idea! Btw my room is 6.5x3.5xnormal ceiling height and is quite well treated. So maybe the bass won't be too overbearing. If so, I can probably plug the port.

    Zaph ZRT crossover

Thanks for the clarification. One thing that is still strange to me is that if the frequency shows flat when measuring, why would it seem "laid back"? Is it maybe a phenomenon that happens at low volumes, meaning that the frequency response differs at low and higher volumes? It would seem a bit...

    Zaph ZRT crossover

What do you mean by "laid back"? And "tweeter working too hard"? Does that mean the transient response is slow or there is a dip in the frequency response or a crossover phasing problem?

    Zaph ZRT crossover

Thanks for the replies! I'm planning to build the 2way for studio use. Still contemplating whether I should go ported or sealed design. Does the crossover differ for ported or sealed? As far as I can gather from the Zaph website they might be the same. The upgrade is on the inductors going...

    Zaph ZRT crossover

I plan on building some Zaph ZRT speakers. There was talk of a South African supply crossover somewhere on this forum. Did this ever realise? Also, on the Madisound site there is an upgrade option for the crossover design. How big a difference does this upgrade option make to the sound?
