I know all to well, how the SS amp vs. valve amp guitarists can go on, and on, and on about which is the better amp. Is it the same with turn table amps too ? Did i just open a can of worms here ?

1) I heard a demo in a specialized record store in London, a few years ago, and the pre & power amp rig sounded much better than the integrated amp rig. Ever since then, i thought that two seperat units will ALWAYS sound 'better' than a ''jack of all trades'' integrated amp/unit. 2) Stereo only...

Hope this question is excepted on this group. I did not want to ask the question over at the Valve Forum, because every one there will probably be Pro Valve. As a guitar player i know a wee bit about all-valve (guitar) amps. But when it comes to vinyl/record player valve amps, i know nothing...

That is super good news. Problem is, i do not know (yet) what i 'need'. All i know is, i want a separate pre & power amp . . . and NOT an integrated unit.
