    Is all well with Netflix?

In the end I followed the advice of someone in the TV business (not where I bought it, which is Game where there was ZERO technical support available but the best price I could find) to buy an Explora Ultra. A rather expensive option but at least it works well - in some instances better than the...

    Is all well with Netflix?

My have an iPhone, just for clarity's sake. As I understand it now, I use a streaming device of my choice and pay what is due for the service (app) I make use of. The streaming device has nothing to do with using DsTV.

    Is all well with Netflix?

What I need is a device compatible with my Wi-Fi on the one hand and my PC on the other that will enable me to watch Netflix. An Apple TV requires a monthly subscription as far as I can see and that is a no-no for me. No other streaming is required, only Netflix. @Charles Barnes[, are you...

    Is all well with Netflix?

Thanks for your responses guys. I switched the power outlet off and then on again and that worked, but when D-day arrives I now know what to do next. As I have an iPhone the Apple TV shall allow screen mirroring (or so I understand), which makes streaming on the TV possible that I can only do on...

    Is all well with Netflix?

I have been watching Netflix for quite a while on my Samsung smart TV and now I cannot. I saw a message the other day that as fromSeptember I would not be able to watch Netflix on my device - the mentioned Samsung - anymore, no reason provided. Any ideas on what I should do about it? I am not...

Suitable 24V charger of for garage door motor

Last post, promise, but I have to share with you what the salesman in a local battery (and other electrical merchandise) shop told me about Li batteries. He alleges that a Li battery will not last as a replacement for the lead/acid batteries standard for garage door- and gate motors because the...

Suitable 24V charger of for garage door motor

One more question, at this time only as a point of interest, which would last longer for garage/gate motor; LiFePO4 or gel? The gates are of course 12V items. Last post, promise, but I have to share with you what the salesman in a local battery (and other electrical merchandise) shop told me...

Suitable 24V charger of for garage door motor

Thanks Bruce, good idea. Not planning to do anything major regarding that door. Removal of the wight may have put an end to the problem anyway. The weight I removed has a mass of 2.8kg, pretty much equal to a few tightening turns of two coil springs, I guess, and so very much easier. Tested the...

Suitable 24V charger of for garage door motor

My problem is actually that the two midget weight 12V 3,1Ah batts have a hard time during blackouts and could not open the door twice during the same blackout. Bought two new ones. Cheap enough but the schlepp when they fail when SWAMBO is home alone and ... don't think that needs any elaboration.

Suitable 24V charger of for garage door motor

What you say is what I was afraid of. As an experiment I removed that flat iron weight bolted to one side of the door at the bottom. So far so good. Still expecting something to go wrong like the door winding up skew when my wife drives out and buggering up the whole works. But I did test it a...

Suitable 24V charger of for garage door motor

I can remember that several years agoo the USA had a spate of trouble with their power, I think it was in NY but not sure, and it was called rolling blackouts. They also had what was called "brown outs" which, as the name infers, meant power was not cut but reduced. The important thing was that...

Suitable 24V charger of for garage door motor

Thanks Chris. I found one at Extreme Lights in Stellenbosch at sales price of R900. Nice and close. Someone also said I should check the tension of the coil spring on the door's axle for it should be wound up tightly enough to take much of the load off the motor during opening. Mine does feel as...

Suitable 24V charger of for garage door motor

I have had my fill of ending up with a pair of defunct 12V batteries (connected in serie) every few months when we open and close the door more than once during blackouts - I read somewhere that "loadshedding" is in fact a euphemism for "blackout" or even more correctly, in my view, "power...
