It's probably PSU, I had one of those old beasts and ran it off a 600w PSU, was barely enough.

I would really advise against free VPN's. Like mentioned above it presents a security issue and it's likely to be very slow.

I have a Dell that was carted literally all over the world, by a trainer. It has been to more countries than I have. It was always chucked in a pile of laptops and thrown around in flight cargo, only to be used by trainee's. It's more than 10 years old, and it works like the day it was bought...
