If the format of the test, as per my previous post, is well laid out to remove any kind of bias then the test will yield valid results regardless of what your perspective may be. I believe the format is important in order to have a valid outcome.

I would suggest having 5 / 6 different patch cables that are randomly swapped blind per track for a few rounds of testing. In each round, the golden ear needs to identify their special low noise cable since the difference is so significant. Repeat this process over a few tracks and a few rounds...
