New Restoration Project - Radford K25 valve monoblocks

You can use Fluid Film, it's the tin on the left. I use this on my rifle barrels to protect against rust. Use fine steel wool, (0000) and a bit of WD40 to remove the rust, be easy handed and work lightly, wipe and apply a new thin coat of Fluid Film for protection.

Wiim Pro / Pro Plus now has Room Correction

Received mine last week, really good value for money and super easy to use.

    Wiim Pro Special

I looked at the specs and saw a few video reviews, including Darko. If you are using a dedicated DAC is there a marked difference between the Pro and Pro Plus?

LOL, should have been duct tape. All good!

Subwoofer impact on Amplifier Dynamic Range

As Tzs503gp stated, the speaker variables play a deciding part in looking at amp vs speaker performance. Onkyo used to publish power ratings based on a 6 ohm speaker load, hence a slightly higher rating than you can expect from an 8 ohm speaker load. Speakers don't "draw" power from an amp but...

    Outstanding value DAC from TEMU

I took a look at this and it seems they are still available. I'll have to see about ordering a few other items to make it viable.

    Wiim Pro Special

Looks like a great streamer, saw a few reviews as well as measurements and at the price should be hard to beat.

HDCP Handshake issues - Poor mans curse

It points to a bandwidth issue. To use 8K your HDMI cables need to go beyond 24Gps, as Ken said, you'll need to have 48Gps certified cables from source to AVR and AVR to TV.

    Do you power condition?

Hi Timbaland, congrats, the Furman Elite 16 is a fantastic product and you will likely not believe your system afterwards, audio and video wise. A few important bits, make sure you have a dedicated 20A rated cable to a dedicated 20A breaker feeding the unit. Then make sure the unit is connected...

    Do you power condition?

I would like to chime in a bit here, but upfront state that opinions are mine only and simply for "educational" purposes. No animals were harmed in any way. As previously mentioned, I have a reasonable stereo system by most accounts. I spend a good amount of time listening to music, from ABBA...

    Help - Lightening Strike

Just be cautious as this item is HDMI v1.4 only and will not pass HDCP2.2. This means it's only 10.2 gig and won't authenticate 4K in any form, or provide HDR support. If you have a more upmarket 4K system then the following will be more likely an option...

    Help - Lightening Strike

It's the Electrostatic Discharge, it affects all chipsets, HDMI, DAC's, you name it. Cable wise it's likely the EMP inducing DC voltage as well to networks and bus comms. Lightning wears many different hats..

    Hobbies besides Hi Fi

Thanks so much, it's a real pleasure to shoot and an amazingly accurate rifle, it's the peanut behind the rifle that determines the "outcome". We have league and club shoots in a few locations, tomorrow and Sunday we are shooting the Northwest Open at Harties Dam. We have venues that host...

    Hobbies besides Hi Fi

I have quite a wide variety of interests, some I get to do regularly, others only when time permits. - I shoot competitive air rifles and shoot in our FT league, challenging and technical but a fantastic sport to me. (pic of my rifle below) - I love wood but have limited space so only really...

TV - TCL or HiSense or Skyworth

Take the time and use either a basic calibration disc like "Digital Video Essentials" or even via your Apple TV, as the settings from factory is far from ideal. Doing this will already make nearly any brand TV look a lot better.

    Computer & Music

Yes looking at purely 1's and 0's the argument would likely end up that a ripped CD will always sound the same as the original, but is it, it's digital after all being PCM? That was my journey as I do have some reasonable audio equipment and I do spend time listening to all sorts of music. So I...
