    Help me find new loudspeakers

I know you said you wanted local representation, but for the money you are looking to spend, I would consider a Linkwitz LX521 as a speaker which is much more natural. A couple of subs to round out the organ pipe lows and you will have an awesome system.

    DSP for the masses

Apologies. Life has an unfortunate habit of getting in the way of the important things. No update yet as I'm now constructing the speakers which will require the DSP. On a brief listen with some backups, I was not able to detect any distortion or jitter artefacts, so promising.

    The GOOD NEWS Thread

"Donated" is a loaded word. No doubt there will be a payback required somewhere and "emergency" implies the situation is beyond control. Both are worrying thoughts

The human auditory system and audio

A very interesting piece of research, but as always, it creates more questions than answers. However, being able to measure the human auditory response, allows improvement of electronic systems to better match the capabilities available. It seems to me, that information about timing is more...

    DSP for the masses

I finally received the boards yesterday. Impressions: 1. This thing is tiny and well made. 2 boards plus the programming dongle easily fitted into an a5 sized padded envelope and weighed 200g, so shipping should be no problem. 2. Connections are simple using 3.5mm stereo plugs for analog in and...

    DSP for the masses

I ordered 2 DSP boards and the USB programmer. The latter is only required while actually programming, so multi-use

    DSP for the masses

I have been trawling the internet for the past 10 years, looking for options to use Digital methods to enable speaker crossovers and, latterly, room EQ. During that time, the options have been many and varied and I have come across many cleverly produced software solutions (Bodzio, FooBar 2000...

Hard to control the effect and not always consistent 😜

What Happpened To The Elusive Soundstage?

I have read this thread with interest, as someone who struggles to perceive a "soundstage", not just electronically reproduced stereo speakers but also at live orchestral events. Sure, I can place the violins on the left and the cellos on the right, but I am unable to discriminate "space" around...
