Yes - but I believe that is mechanical noise from the vacuum actuator mechanism struggling. Mine is specifically from the DC motor moving the mechanism and is there as soon as the motor spins (with motor totally uncoupled - without belt on). I will report back after looking into the circuit.

Thank you - I will do so. Cheap and easy to try at least :) I just replaced all caps in an old NAD 3140. It played fine. But most caps were very dead. Weird that it played at all.

Thank you for looking info this - But this is not the issue unfortunately (what you are referring to is the automatic platter-start system when the tonearm is moved onto the platter). The problem is solely regarding the DC motor driving the VDS system Whenever it is running it is making a noise...

Could you point me to the ones to check? I am not super good at interpreting what goes where ;-)

It might be a redundancy from the 375 (automatic) version. But not easy to have a SM with totally wrong parts 😅 I will look at the vacuum motor control and revert - it makes sense that that could make the motor behave erratically 👍🏻 The seals mentioned earlier are the vacuum seals on the platter...

Thank you for helping out - much appreciated :-) Now I just need to find a replacement belt to run the vacuum actuator mechanism. Btw - those who has this TT: is the VDS motor supposed to make a noise when running? Mine spins but has a relative loud noise to it.

Second update: I replaced VR2. Now it spins at 33 RPM :-) I guesstimated the setting on the potentiometer - how do I measure and what should I adjust to? There are some TP’s on the PCB.

    Luxman PD370

Update: my TT does not have a board with 3 IC’s and VR1/VR2. It only has VR2 and VR3 on the board that has wires going to the motor (see pic). VR2 measures 600KOhm across the two touch points and does not react to turning. So I assume this is the culprit? VR3 is reacting to turning and has a...

Thank you so much - I was suspecting that the VR’s might be dead. I had an old NAD where that was the exact problem (could not adjust bias). I have the SM, but I am not clever enough about this to read it 100% - can you direct me to where in the SM I find what to adjust them TO? I see the two...

    Luxman PD370

Hi all - Morten from Denmark here :-) I just got a 370. One problem: when on 33 RPM it spins at around 100 RPM. 45 is dead on. Where to start fault finding? Capacitors on the motor control board seem to measure ok and no visible issues on any PCB. Suspect something with feedback, but not sure...
