    AN ABSOLUTE TRAVESTY !!!!!!

Seems that when there's 100 rock bands to order VH1 results are very different http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/the_greatest/62188/episode_about.jhtml Queen at 13 on this list. That said most people I know could name 3 Queen songs off the top of their head and would be hard pressed to name one...

    Sony or Philips

You're right the flicker problem is not present in LCD (at least until the fake refresh screens become more popular) so 50hz won't make a difference to normal viewing. However if the TV can only do 50Hz then potentially NTSC dvd's will be unviewable and you won't be able to use the option on the...

    Sony or Philips

I almost bought the Philips a few weeks back. The Philips only has one component input which is why I didn't buy it (that and the fact that I already have one and don't really need it). From what I can tell the Philips also uses an IPS panel (I could never quite confirm this and it's difficult...

    GERDAC - another batch?

Agree with that. My Aragin D2A (back from 92, bought second hand) actually achieves much better results for 44.1k 16 bit but doesn't sound as good. Measurments taken with SPDIF out and RCA to my sound cards line in (also by passing the windows mixer).I started opening it up and found that it was...

    GERDAC - another batch?

Those are some very impressive figures. The only two where the RD2 (a more expensive DAC) has a minor advantage are the Noise Level and Dynamic Range after that the GERDAC has much lower noise figures. I'm really excited about this DAC. I've attached the Rockna RD2 RMAA results if anyones...

    Subwoofer isolation

The wavelength of the waves generated by the subwoofer are so large (a few meters) that it's not going to make a whole lot of difference to the waveform if they move around a little (I don't believe this even makes a difference for higher frequencies). The speaker is also more likely to bounce...

    GERDAC - another batch?

Would it be possible to post or PM the RMAA analyser results for you DAC (16 and 24 bit). Would be interesting to see how they compare to my current DAC's (Rockna RD-2 and a old Aragon D2A). I use my Xonar DX2 for RMAA which gives suprisingly good results for the money.

    GERDAC - another batch?

Hi All First post. Couldn't believe such a site existed in SA and came across it by accident during a routine google search and I?ve been excitedly catching up on threads ever since. My area of enthusiasm is digital audio (more the programming side) and I?ve been researching and following...
