Alma Deutscher, a child musical prodigy, was able to name notes on the piano at age 2 and began playing piano and violin at the age of 3. Within a year of tutoring, she was playing Handel sonatas on the violin.
By the age of 4, Alma had begun composing her own melodies, and by 6 she?d written her first piano sonata. This was followed by a violin and orchestra concerto at age 9.
In December last year, her full-length opera, ?Cinderella,? premiered at the Casino Baumgarten Theatre in Vienna, performed by the Viennese opera group, Oh!pera.
Alma is frequently compared to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) but, while flattered, Alma insists she would rather be the first Alma than the second Mozart.
