The 12AU7, as with all other tubes have several brands/manufacturers through their production years. With its heritage hailing from the infamous octal 6SN7 (GT), the smaller form factor 12AU7 would've enjoyed a popular following. With this tube at a position where it influences the sound signature in one way or another, please share your experiences with them. Manufacturers for a kickstart on this are GE, RCA, Mullard. Certain brands seem to be more popular (based on cost) and sought after than others for reasons I'm hoping will be exposed in this thread.
