I am thinking of buying a VW 1.2 tsi touran 2010 model, problem is the car has no turbo aspirated power to speak of. I'd like to take the car as is but would like to know before hand what potential problems I am getting myself into. So the car drives as normal but no matter how much you accelerate the performance remains the same. The car has done 170k kms...
I saw the check engine light that was on during my drive and an EPC error that was on. There was a kind of whistle when the car was started up but it stopped less than a minute thereafter. There was no smoke while the car was idling and while I was driving it all seemed normal except for the low power output. The salesman did say the car had been standing for three months so they had to add petrol and inflate a flat tyre for the test drive plus the battery was flat so we had to get a jumpstart. once that was out the way all was well. I did start it up a couple of times thereafter to rule out the possibility of a dead battery. Not sure if I have given enough information but from the top of my head that's what I remember.
