Seen a few 20yr odd old DAC's from some of the top notch manufacturers getting sold in the classifieds.
Was wondering apart from not supporting USB or 96/192khz how do these sound compared to a 2013 DAC of similar quality.

So if I fed a FLAC 44.1Khz cd rip into the digital input of the THETA Progeny Dac or Wadia X32 Dac that have been up for sale and then fed that same input into a 2013 Theta or Wadia Dac how would the 20yr old dac's comapre to the latest versions if everything else in the system was the same, ie only the Dacs was changed between auditions?

What has changed apart from the aforementioned USB and increased sampling rate support from 20yrs ago till now?

Also you could say DACs have been around since CD's hit the scene in the early 80's so by the time these 20yr old Dacs hit the market in the '90s the technology must have been reasonably mature by then?
