So I'm faced with a 4 Ohm speaker I want to drive from my Leak stereo 60.
The logic (and label) tells me to change my OPT's to the 4 ohm setting.
I know OPT's are sometimes considers a bit of a art to get right so now I ask.
Does using so much less of the secondary winding compromise the quality? (frequency response etc.)
How does this extra load affect the reliability and heat load of the primary and secondary winding and the rest of the amp?
If my stereo 60 is 30W / channel at 8 ohm(I assume) does that mean it produces 60w / channel at 4 ohm?
regards
