Hi everyone,

I am helping a friend setup his retired mom's flat with good sound. She's a lover of music & has an ear for good sound. She is looking to spend a few bucks.

At first, I was leaning toward:
B&W 606 for FL and FR
Marantz SR5014
Bentley FR50 for Surround R and Surround L
Rega P1 & phono stage
No sub just yet..room is fairly small and the 606s should be capable.

BUT, after having a look at the flat, the TV will be mounted right next to the entrance door. This space would not allow for a TV stand to house the AVR, speakers, turntable etc. It would just look clumsy!
The other option is to locate the AVR & turntable at the back of the room and mount the FL and FR speakers on the wall.
But running wires to the back of the room, through the ceiling is not something I would want to do.
There's also a little 1 year old who would frequent the flat and bound to play with the AVR & possibly pull out wires etc.

Giving it some more thought..I also wouldn't want a "complicated" system for his mom..it should just be plug and play irrespective of what she listens to..TV, Bluray, LPs, CDs etc.

This led me to the Sonos wireless option however, I have never heard it before & cannot vouch for it in terms of sound quality, wireless stability, ease of use etc.

What should I do? Go the trusted "complicated" route or Sonos?

Can anyone vouch for the Sonos and perhaps answer a few follow-up questions I have?

Ryan
