I have just taken delivery of a bit of equipment from Dewald and Chris from 77 Manufacturing. I sent the below to them as a token of appreciation.
Hi Dewald and Chris,
Just a note to express my appreciation for the Switching Unit you have just built and installed for me.
To say that I am happy is a big understatement - I'm ecstatic! Everything from the initial wish list has been realised in a way that beggars belief. The entire process was communicated to me with pictures and multiple phone calls plus the offer to include my existing electronic crossover is much appreciated.
I am now able to switch any combination of amplifier (300B SE Triodes, Leak Stereo 20 and TacT/Lyngdorf 2175 SADI) to any of my three speakers (Rear loaded horns - Axiom 80's,
Onken/Vitavox and stacked Altec A7 clones) in real time - no need to grovel with wires, happy days! Ditto the various inputs ranging from streamer, CD and tape decks.
Dewald spent some 12 hours installing the unit having decided to redo ALL the interconnecting wires with new cables and connectors plus replacing all the plugs to the speaker systems too.
The unit itself: what can I say? The concept itself is excellent and just what I wanted, the design far exceeds what I had in mind with double relay switching, buffered inputs, and build construction that has to be seen to be believed! The case is top class, the front 12mm Aluminium panel machined to within an inch of it's life (just looking at the machining out from the rear shows there was a master at work), the layout, the final finish (brushed Aluminium then anodised) and the layout is logical and very workable.
From design to build to instal all absolutely top class and the final product is worth of any of the mest manufacturers anywhere in the world and one would never think that it is essentially a "one off".
I have seen your other products and the same passion and quality are applied there too, Well Done!
