The 807 valve is a near equivalent to the KT66 one.
In the past vintage audio amplifiers used it. It was not a popular audio valve because of its anode top cap configuration.
For an experiment purposes friend of mine exchanged a pair of KT66's with 807's in a Quad II, with the necessary modifications such as UX5 bases and bias resistor. Worked very well.
Lately observed that the 807's price in on the increase because of its excellent audio use.
This valve used to be one of most common valves available on the market but lately is becoming a sought after valve. I still have a pile of it. There is also a 12V filament version of it.
It will be interesting to hear if anybody else used the 807 in an audio amplifier.
