I am trying it out - it is well out of my budget range but owing to circumstances it may make sense for me to buy without a doubt the best turntable I have ever had at my house.
It's a Clearaudio Master Solution with a 14" Unify arm and a Aurum Beta S cartridge.
To say that it sounds better than the Planar 3 is the understatement of the year. Kind of like going from a 24 year old VW Golf Mk I GTi into a Porsche 911 Turbo, brand new.
Detail, tonal balance, impact, staging, all virtually faultless. Absolutely magical. Frikkin' surface noise is still there, but much less.
The turntable is unfortunately in particularly shoddy (albeit working) condition. Will spend some time cleaning it up and consider a path of action.
Oh, and I know I need a stand ...
