Here is part of a recording I did this past Sunday in our church using the Jecklin Disk method:

Is is two cardioid mics sitting ~ 36 cm apart with a 30 cm disc divider between them for optimal stereo recording. The disc is covered with sound absorbing material.

You will notice in the recording that the organ is to the left of the stereo image and the quartet to the right.

The mic was placed to the right side of the organ console with the middle line-of-sight facing to the midway point between the organ pipe wall and the string quartet. The church has a valuted ceiling and has a rich reverb time but not too bright.

Recording was done at 24-bits. Final audio export at 16-bit with slight limiting to trim extreme peaks. A high-pass filter was applied to curb the (20 Hz and below) low-frequency rumble from the traffic/urban noise reverberation in the church.
