I was wandering if any the techies here could help isolate a problem.
I have an ADCOM GCD700 CD (5 disc) shuttle which I use on a day to day basis for background music when I'm working from home or having a braai etc. Its actually sounds quite good, better than most mid level CD players IMO (the writing on the front says "all class A analogue circuitry, 20bit DAC, 352.8kHz sampling rate" for what its worth). I'm quite attached to it. I bought it second hand for R2k a long time ago and its served me well.
But...
Its started to sound "scratchy" on some discs, if you cycle to the next disc or song that problem sometimes goes away. It has also started to not pick up when a disc is present and/or refuse to play it (this became a terminal problem for my previous CD player), and also suddenly decides half way through a song that its ended and skips to the next song. My discs aren't all damaged (i'm very careful with them), so that is not the problem.
Any ideas what the issue can be?
