I?ve salvaged the pictured items from lab equipment. I?m thinking of building a dedicated power strip, utilising the filter, feeding my audio equipment. I want to dedicate the shielded power cable to my power amp.
I have two questions: is the filter a valuable addition to my power strip?
Do I connect the shield to earth on the incoming side of the cable? The shield is not connected to the output side in any way.
I?m also considering incorporating a surge protection device. I remember a thread on that topic recently, but I can easily hack a commercial power strip, and repurpose the surge protection from it.
Thoughts please.
