I've advertised my S2000 on Gumtree on Sunday for R140,000 (2000 model, mead retail value is R124,000). It needs two front tyres (R3500).
I've had quite a few calls, so much so that my cell was flat by lunch time yesterday. I then had a guy come round last night to look at the car, he said he'd give me R125,000 cash - in its current state, saying he does not have time for the vehicle to be AA tested, or the tyres replaced. He wants an answer today to he can transfer the cash and it can properly clear by Thursday when he wants to collect the vehicle. He is apparently going away on Thursday. The guy is fairly young - respectable looking - arrived on a nice KTM990, he wasn't pushy, asked questions, was happy with the answers, over-all he spent about 45min looking and test driving the vehicle
Now - I'm fine with that price, because if you exclude the tyres and AA test, I'm saving about +-R5000... putting the offer at R130,000.
My concerns are as follows:
1.) I have no idea if something serious is wrong with the vehicle, I don't think so, but I honestly don't know - him not wanting to do an AA test could mean he'll end up bringing the vehicle back with a major issue, what are my rights?
2.) I'm a bit worried about the rush he's in - I won't even have the vehicle registration papers by the time he takes the car, he says he'll take care of that when he gets back.
Any advice? :-\
