Advice: Vinyl covers on a wall

I am thinking about covering my wall with Vinyl covers. I have had a look at some of the vinyl hangers on the web and they are hellishly expensive..

Any ideas as to what I could use?

I was thinging of using some metal channeling that I would screw on to the wall, one at the top and one at the bottoms and then slide they vinyl cover in.

Wall below.. The long empty one.
