Just joined the forum. I am looking for advice on a preamp to match with an old Classe 70 Poweramp. I was using a passive preamp (QED) - effectively a volume control that has now completely packed up. Ideally I would like a Classe 30 pre but these seem difficult to come by. Is it worthwhile to wait for a 30 pre to come up for sale? The last one seems to have come through the forum about 3 years ago. Can anyone suggest some reasonable options?
I am happy with the Poweramp sound. It has very good midrange & tops but is slightly bass shy. The speakers are Linn Helix's which match the poweramp well. The inputs are a Marantz 63KI and a Mede8er media player.
