Somehow I missed this.. until I tried to buy some AKM parts for both work and personal projects. We definitely will see the impact of this in the audio industry given the dominance of AKM.

TI's high-end products are over 20 years old, Analog Devices and Cirrus/Wolfson all but stopped development. ESS is the only real contender, but with a much smaller product line.
