Was thinking about sub sonic bass (<20Hz) being passed on from recordings to speakers.
Its out of the audible range, so what's the point of having it? Also, most speakers can't really reproduce it, but they will try. Does this have an impact on SQ? I can only imagine if a speaker is busy trying to do a low, sub sonic 10Hz rumble while at the same time producing mid range up to xo freq and beyond, it just has to have an impact. ??? More especially in the case of a 2 way speaker.

My speakers are actually pretty good at producing sub bass (for a 2 way at least):

ZAPH Audio's measured response:

And the music I listen to, does have quite a bit of energy under 20Hz:

Chris Isaak- 5:15

JS Bach - Brandenburg Concerto No1

Brandi Carlisl - '60 years on' seems to have the sub sonics reduced to very low levels though. Intentional if you ask me. (Brilliant recording)

My question then:

Does it make sense to have an amp that passes on EVERYTHING you feed it? If not where should one cut off?
