Any issues taking VPS off

Hi all. I know that there are mixed feelings about VPS so do not want to get into the pros and cons of it. What I did want to ask is - if a car already has VPS on - have there been any issues with taking it off? That is - any negative impact on the paint work, any residual lines that are difficult to eliminate, etc.
