Do these things only pick up movement, or are their types that specifically only trigger when an actual body is detected?
Reason I ask is that our neighbour's security 'expert' has put up a 360 degree PIR protected light pole by their gate after the previous motor was stolen. Problem is that apart from the fact that it triggers when the neighbour across the road drives past in his tractor, it also triggers when cars drive past in the driveway adjacent to their driveway, leading to a disco-type experience of the worst kind in the middle of the night. Trying to find out if there are more efficient types of PIR that I can suggest they use that won't trigger at anything moving past.
