Friends and I have been using UBER on and off for about a year. Works well, cars are clean, driver (85% of the time) knows where he is going. You must be waiting outside for the car, they invariably arrive early
Last week picked up first scam. You need to rate the driver after you alight from the car, and I always give 5 stars. Driving back from Table View to Plumstead (quoted rate R 206,50 for 2 of us) driver was talking on his mobile phone, holding it up to his ear and received 3 calls during the 40 minute trip. All in a foreign language. He ignored my requests to cease talking and was so busy speaking that he missed the exit from the M5 and I had to guide him via an alternate route
So I gave him 3 stars. Next thing I receive a additional charge for 4 extra passengers (in his Audi A4) of R 86,00. I have requested a fare adjustment and am awaiting the outcome. This is what a disgruntled driver can do
