There was a thread on internet security. Obviously, the Ubuntu crowd had it all covered, but a Windows user shared an easy method of making IE immune to unwanted material.
If I remember correctly, it involved going to the regedit page and typing in a command line or 2.
I did what was said, and it's all been happy camping ever since, until last Saturday, an IT friend was helping with a some network issues and somehow undid the tweak. Now all those horrible casino and sex ads are back!
