Been trying to attend an Olympic Games since 1972. Was moderately successful in 1976 in Montreal (only one event) and London 2012 (only the Paralympics) but the ticket prices for Tokyo have been deliberately reduced and seniors also get a discount
In Japan, there is a lottery system from April for residents, but overseas visitors is available from July. Have a good friend in Chiba, near Tokyo but she ascertained that she will be unable to buy tickets which she herself cannot use
My last few experiences was that large travel agencies in the USA and Europe buy 90% of the available tickets on the first day they are announced. The London games ticket office did not even reply to my enquiries
According to Truly Tokyo and other related sites, the countries Olympic organisation handles the tickets, but SASCOC know nothing about it.
Any information from informed readers will be welcomed
