Hi
I want to know if the twin RCA outputs on the Arcam 500 dac can be combined and connected to the XLR inputs on my Promitheus TVC passive preamp [ie. the 2 RCA left channel plugs feeding into one XLR plug and the same for the right channel] similar to the configuration that you can do with the CI vda2 dac.I suspect this would not be a true balanced output if the 2 RCA outputs are simply paralleled and,if so,I suppose there would be no advantage to doing this?
I do however want to make use of the XLR input on my passive preamp [it gives me an extra input option] so I will probably use a RCA into XLR lead anyway [or maybe adaptors -don't want to degrade the signal though
Some advise would be appreciated.
