Hi Guys
I need some advise on the mentioned pairing of this equipment. I can't do a demo, so I have to rely on reviews and other people's opinions.
I have read plenty reviews that this is a good matchup, I currently have the Nad C316. I'm mostly happy with my setup, it's just that sometimes the amp is very forward sounding and gets a little harsh and edgy at high volumes. It's def not the speakers as I had a home demo this weekend with the Nad C356 and all these issues weren't there with this amp, i didn't enjoy the C356 though. It was to laidback compared to the C316 and there was something wrong with the bass, it lacked definition and seemed a bit wooly. I'm scared that the Arcam will sound to reserved and flat as a lot of people have mentioned. I want an engaging amp with plenty of punch and rhythm like Nad normally has but with a bit more smoothness.
Will the Arcam FMJ A18 give me what I need over my C316, without been to laidback and boring?
Thanks Guys
