A friend who has Open View has recently subscribed to IPTV where the are literally hundreds of channels
He then bought an Amazon Fire stick and subscribed
The subs he has got allows him to watch two different channels on two devices. It uses the MAC address to limit the device you are using
He was asking me if you can get a media player that will also record. The idea is that it will, similarly to a DSTV Explora, allow him to record something other than he is watching
Then obviously selective playback will be required.
I can envisage a computer doing this, but do not know of any media players
