Are you buying stolen goods?

Some if not most of us here have had our gear stolen and they find their way into the 2nd hand market. We like buying used gear as it provides the same pleasure as new ones but at a fraction of the cost. We may unknowingly be encouraging crime by buying 2nd hand gear. What are the likely signs that the 2nd hand goods you are about to buy are stolen? For me the some of the indicators are as follows:

1. No remote control
2. Single monoblock
3. Very minimal knowledge of the product the person is selling

I'm not saying the 2 above are sure signs but they do raise suspicion
