Today I have, for the first time in a long time, experienced audio nirvana...

Simon B came by at my home away from home here in Linmeyer, and brought some goodies I need to service and repair. With it he brought a pair of old Mission 760i speakers and a small Sansui receiver for my mate David.

After he left I popped open the Sansui to inspect it and to give all the switches and pots a squirt of switch cleaner. Then I connected it up to the Missions and put on a favorite album - Avalon by Roxy Music.

Like an interstellar porthole opening up in front of me I was transported away to a magical time and place. In front of me a sound-scape as large as a cinema screen. Instruments perfectly spaced in the sound stage.

Well, I think I found my new favorite set of small speakers and David is extremely happy with the sound and retro look of the Sansui receiver.

It stirs up a warm feeling inside.
