Audio Research SP-17 Pre-amplifier

Is is worthwhile a listen to take one of two setups apart to accomodate this thing? One current setup is a Quad 405 and a Kenwood C1 control pre and the other a Leak Stereo 20 and a Rotel RC980BX? Bottom feeder stuff I know and I have the feeling that my present setups will most likely not benefit by the SP17.
