Uh,Oh :-[

A friend recently sent me this CD-R which really confused my convictions that analogue and vinyl is best. Now, I'm not so sure...as man oh man, this sound is sooo like vinyl.

The lowdown: EMT XSD-15 VDH, SME 3009 MK1, STC Transformers, Shindo Pre and recorded direct to Pioneer PDR-W739

Da music: Left Alone, Archie Shepp + Dollar Brand
Tones for Joan's Bones, Fumio Karashima Trio
Take Five, Maria Joao
Close to you alone, Chico Freeman
A night in Tunisia, Great Jazz Trio
Steal Away, Gary Bartz
Irina, Joe Chambers
Footprints, Eddie Henderson
Vienna, Clifford Jordon

My ears are tuned for vinyl and I have made many CD-R's for my car from vinyl but this mentioned here must be as close to 'virtual' vinyl it'll ever get.

Any thoughts about which of the gear listed was responsible for this superlative sound? Was it the EMT, the arm, the STC's or the Burr Brown chipset in the Pioneer?
