Surely that would have been the logic with balanced outs on the standalone dac.So they decided let's convert digital to analogue with this nice ESS Sabre chip, then we transfer it to our nice pre/dac, but wait, lets do it via balances outputs, then we skip our nice ESS Sabre chip and send the signal to the power amp.
